VOLUNTEER
TODAY!

07764 475403

HOW IT WORKS

  • Patrol after the end of the school day in known hotspots for anti-social behaviour

  • Non-confrontational observation and assistance

  • All volunteers need an enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange

  • You also need to sign a Code of Conduct and Accident Waiver

  • There is an online calendar where volunteers register the days they can patrol

  • Timing is 3.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Monday to Friday, in term time only

  • Patrol in pairs

  • Provide the police with more information so that they can built up a better picture of what is happening

  • As well as our team (the local Safer Neighbourhood Team and Queen's Park Community School), we are supported by local councillors, residents' associations (particularly Queen's Park Residents Association - QPARA), and the community as a whole.

What Our Street Watchers Say

"Every time I hear of another mugging it reminds me how important this effort is."

"I feel that it's more important than ever to look out for others."

"It’s important to keep a presence up and to be visible in the community."

"I always liked the idea of increased ‘people’s army’ contribution."

"The recent spate of muggings have confirmed my feeling that this is valuable community action, and it is important that we take a stand against violent and unprovoked anti social behaviour in our locality"
